Hospitality is the heart of everything we do. From the moment a guest walks through the door to the moment they leave, you set the tone for their entire evening. Responsibilities
- Execute service on the pantry station with precision and consistency
- Prepare cold appetizers, salads, desserts, and other pantry items to El Gaucho's standards

- Monitor station inventory and communicate needs to management

Position Summary: Our private dining and events team at El Gaucho Vancouver is dedicated to creating a flawless experience for our guests' most important business and personal moments. We manage multiple events simultaneously and drive sales for the restaurant. Our Event Coordinators work closely with clients to identify their needs and ensure their satisfaction. The ideal candidate for this position is extremely detail oriented and organized with exceptional communication skills, and a passion for hospitality. Roles and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to selling our event space by phone, email and in person, guiding guests through menu planning and other event details, administrative work, and marketing the restaurant through social networking.
Qualifications:
- Computer skills working with Microsoft Office Suite
- 1 to 3 years of restaurant or customer service experience preferred
- Administrative duties involve answering inquiries, client proposals, menu development, contracts, deposits, and account reconciliation

This role plays a key part in the daily operations of the restaurant, with a particular focus on spirits and wine inventory management, and offers the opportunity to shape both guest experience and team performance at a high level.
Responsibilities
Invest in the growth and development of your team through mentorship, hands on coaching, and a genuine commitment to building a strong, knowledgeable staff. You will oversee spirits and wine inventory processes, ensuring accuracy, cost control, and proper ordering practices, while partnering with leadership on purchasing decisions. You will support the General Manager in daily operations, anticipate guest needs, and help deliver personalized, high touch fine dining experiences. You will lead by example on the floor, stepping in to execute tableside preparations with precision and showmanship when needed, and coaching the team to the same standard. You will uphold fine dining standards including coursed service, etiquette, and seamless team coordination, and you will stay composed under pressure while guiding team performance in real time.
Qualifications
Previous fine dining leadership experience is required. Strong knowledge of spirits and wine is essential, and relevant certifications are helpful, though equivalent hands on experience will be given equal consideration. We are looking for someone with a strong leadership presence and a natural ability to mentor, develop, and inspire a team, a genuine guest first mentality, and clear, confident communication skills. Comfort working with inventory systems, cost tracking, and vendor relationships is important. A commitment to upholding El Gaucho Bellevue standards and vision/culture is essential.

Compensation:
During the 2-week training period, and for certain limited activities thereafter (e.g., set-up for buy-outs, company meetings) you will get the applicable minimum wage for your location: $21.30/hr. After training, the pay range is the minimum wage for your location ($21.30/hour) to $102/hour, which is calculated by a variable base amount per hour (ranging from $1 to $21.30/hour) plus 15% commission on your individual gross sales (gross sales less comps), which is paid 100% to you and not shared with support staff, plus any voluntary tips or gratuities (“bumps”) paid at the guests' discretion, which are also paid entirely to you.* The average earnings, including commissions and bumps, are approximately $55-$70/hour; however, this rate is based on your gross sales and bumps, and as such may vary and is not guaranteed.
* In the unlikely event the base rate + commissions in a workweek do not meet or exceed the minimum wage, a server will be paid at least the location-specific minimum wage ($21.30/hour).

Compensation
During the 2-week training period you will receive $12.00 per hour. After training, pay is $3.35 per hour plus tips. Our servers typically earn $40.00 to $60.00 per hour including tips, though actual earnings vary based on individual sales and guest gratuities and are not guaranteed.
