- Assists residents with personal care and activities of daily living, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment;
- Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan;
- Plans and/or assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis;
- Performs cleaning duties after mealtimes and assists with light housekeeping duties in resident rooms;
- Performs delegated tasks as determined by scope of employment;
- Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident status and safety to RN/LPN Supervisor.
About You
- You have a valid Continuing Care Certification (CCA) or equivalent and are registered with the Health Association of Nova Scotia CCA Registry;

About the Job
- Collaborate with the CEO and CIMHC Leaders in the development and execution of the recruitment and retention strategy. Lead recruitment activities including job postings for internal and external advertising. Liaise with external partners on various job posting sites.
- Administer TalentSorter and Profiles International on-line Portals, including job postings, candidate assessment, initial candidate screening, and information sharing with members of the Leadership teams. Serve as subject matter expert for leaders, providing training, advice and coaching on understanding and interpreting candidate/employee data information.
- Lead CIMHC immigrant attraction strategy, collaborating with HANS Immigration Recruitment team. Ensure compliance with immigration policies and practices for all entities within CIMHC. Coordinate and support immigrant employees with settlement into the community and orientation to their work environment.
- Develop and maintain HR Policies for all entities under CIMHC. Advise leaders on changes to policies and provide guidance and support on implementation of changes.
- Provide advice/guidance to Leaders on Performance Management standards and best practices.
- Disability management including return to work action, consulting with leaders, employees, medical professionals, WCB, and external consultant.
- Administer employee benefits for LTC Homes. Process new applications and changes to benefits for employees. Respond to employee enquires.

About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or another relevant program.
- Human Resources Professional Designation (CHRP)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources generalist leadership role.

- Experience with international recruitment is considered an asset

- Provides leadership and delegates tasks to OT/PT Staff.
- Works with Management and OT/PT Staff to promote communication and compliance on company policies and procedures;
- Administers and interprets standardized and non-standardized tests and evaluations to assess resident with occupational therapy related concerns such as level of independence in activities of daily living, seating and mobility, swallowing and meal texture, pressure reduction and skin integrity, splinting.
- Develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical records, observation, and referral; confers with interdisciplinary staff regarding an overall treatment plan for residents.
- Evaluates the progress of residents in relation to occupational therapy treatment provided through use of tests and observation; confers with nursing staff and physicians regarding effectiveness of treatment.
- Prepares progress reports, funding requests, and statistical reports relating to occupational therapy treatment program and resident needs and maintains treatment records as required.
- Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team; gives evaluation and progress reports on residents. Designs and produces adaptive equipment, utensils, splints or other orthotic devices as needed for use by residents; instructs resident and staff in the use of the equipment.
- Coordinates management of facility equipment; contacts suppliers for service and maintenance of wheelchairs, geri chairs and power wheelchairs.
- Provides staff training on ergonomics, seating assessment, skin integrity, equipment and other related topics as required.

About the Job
- Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture, counters, shelving, walls, and window/door ledges;
- Cleans sinks, toilets, and bath facilities;
- Fills and replenishes supplies in resident rooms, nursing units, and rest rooms;
- Empties and cleans trash receptacles and places trash in trash pickup area;
- Sorts laundry into appropriate piles based on the type of laundry (linens, personal clothing);
- Operates washing machine using proper washing formulas;
- Operates dryer; loads clean, wet laundry into the machine and unloads the machine;
- Sorts clean laundry into appropriate baskets or racks; counts linen needed for each area as per linen quota and puts on cart; notes name tags on resident clothing and puts on correct rack;
- Picks up soiled laundry and delivers clean laundry to resident areas within the facility and the Inverness County Municipal Hospital (ICMH) using laundry carts;
- Checks laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, etc. and sorts clothing needing repair;
- Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards. Ensures meals are plated attractively, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is timely;
- Follows production sheets to guide food preparation and assist with cost control;
- Familiarizes self with the specific needs of each resident e.g., diet restrictions, allergies, and special requests/accommodations;
- Assists with the process for checking and receiving of deliveries and inventory control. Ensures all supplies are stored, labelled, and rotated properly;
- Reports areas and equipment in need of repair to the maintenance department;
- Ensures kitchen appearance meets established standards for cleanliness and organization.
About You
- You have a High School diploma or GED;
- You have a valid Food Handlers Certification and WHMIS (or are willing to complete upon hire);
- Experience working with the elderly is considered an asset;
- Experience in commercial housekeeping and/or laundry is considered an asset;
- You have some experience in the culinary field and are familiar with preparing plates for residents;

County of Inverness Municipal Housing Corporation (CIMHC) is a Not-for-Profit Corporation under the authority of the Municipality of the County of Inverness. The Corporation is comprised of four (4) separate entities: two (2) Long Term Care Homes; Inverary Manor, (located in Inverness, NS) and Foyer Père Fiset (located in Cheticamp, NS) and two (2) Small Option Homes; Koster Huis (Mabou, NS) and Port Hood Small Options (Port Hood, NS).
Inverary Manor is a modern 71 bed long-term care facility located along Cape Breton’s musical coast, in Inverness, NS. This state-of-the-art facility is divided into six households, each with common living areas and kitchens, as well as private rooms and bathrooms. The Manor is linked to the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. With its cozy communal spaces, airy, attractive interior, and warm supportive staff, Inverary Manor offers a Resident Centred Culture that appeals to employees who derive meaning from creating a home-like atmosphere and enhancing quality of life for the residents they serve.
