We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Administrator to lead Foyer Père Fiset in its operational mission.
About the Job
Reporting to the CEO of CIMHC, the Administrator provides direct operational oversight and leadership for Foyer Père Fiset.
The Administrator is responsible for the effective management of human, financial, and physical resources to ensure the provision of safe, high-quality resident care and operational excellence. The role encompasses facility leadership with accountability for ensuring compliance with governing regulations, standards of practice, service agreements, and collective agreements.
Working in alignment with CIMHC strategic direction, the Administrator exercises delegated authority in managing day-to-day operations while collaborating with senior leadership to support long-term sustainability and organizational goals.
The Administrator ensures delivery of services consistent with the Mission, Vision, Values, Standards, Policies, Procedures, and Resident-Centered Care Philosophy of Foyer Père Fiset.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Provide direction, supervision, and coordination for services and operations of Foyer Père Fiset.

Financial Stewardship

Participate in the development of annual operating and capital budgets.

- Thoroughly clean common areas including lobbies, hallways, and stairwells; sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms.

À propos du poste :
- Nettoyer en profondeur les espaces communs, y compris les halls d’entrée, les couloirs et les cages d’escalier : balayer, laver, épousseter, passer l’aspirateur, nettoyer et désinfecter les cuisines et les salles de bain.
- Nettoyer en profondeur les chambres vacantes afin de les préparer pour les nouveaux résidents.

- Faire fonctionner la machine à laver en utilisant les formules de lavage appropriées.
- Faire fonctionner la sécheuse et l’extracteur; charger le linge propre et humide dans la machine, régler les cadrans pour assurer un séchage adéquat, puis décharger la machine.
- Trier le linge propre dans les paniers ou supports appropriés; compter le linge requis pour chaque secteur selon le quota établi et l’ajouter au chariot; vérifier les étiquettes de vêtements des résidents et les ranger correctement.
- Ramasser le linge souillé et livrer le linge propre aux secteurs des résidents dans l’établissement à l’aide de chariots à linge.

À propos de vous :
- Diplôme d’études secondaires (12e année) ou GED.
- Minimum d’un (1) an d’expérience en entretien ménager commercial et/ou en buanderie (préféré).

About the Job
- Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of Resident Care Plans;
- Provides leadership to Resident Care staff and oversees provision of quality of health services respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health services;
- Works with Management and Resident Care Staff to promote communication and compliance on company policies and procedures;
- Administers and records prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice;
- Applies dressings and treatments according to physicians’ orders and policy;
- Assists with supervision, support, and evaluation of job performance of Resident Care staff.
About You
- You have a Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Nursing and are registered with the Provincial Association of Registered Nurses;
- You have experience working in Canada as a registered nurse
- You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- You can provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening upon hire;
- You have experience working with the elderly in a seniors’ living or long-term care environment;
- You have a valid CPR & First Aid Certification;
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
- You have a valid work permit and are legal to work in Canada

Foyer Père Fiset is a 71-bed long-term care facility (10 which are RCF level and 1 respite room) located in Cheticamp, a traditional Acadian fishing village situated along the picturesque Cabot Trail, nestled between the majestic mountains of the Cape Breton Island highlands and the shining waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Construction of a new modern state-of-the-art replacement facility is expected to begin in the fall of 2023 and open to residents in 2025.

We are searching for health care students to join our team as Continuing Care Assistants at Inverary Manor in Inverness or the Foyer Père Fiset in Chéticamp, Nova Scotia. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience!!! **Please note - this is a summer casual student position working up to full-time hours based on operational needs.
About the Job
- Assists residents with personal care and activities of daily living, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment;
- Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan;
- Plans and/or assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis;
- Performs cleaning duties after mealtimes and assists with light housekeeping duties in resident rooms;
- Performs delegated tasks as determined by scope of employment;
- Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident status and safety to RN/LPN Supervisor.
About You
- You are a health care student, or have accepted into a health care program
- You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- You can provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening upon hire;
