County of Inverness Municipal Housing Corporation (CIMHC) is a NFP organization which operates two Long Term Care Homes and two Small Option Homes located in Inverness County, Cape Breton’s Musical Coast and home to internationally known Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs Golf Resorts. We are seeking a new CEO to lead the CIMHC in its strategic mission. Reporting directly to a volunteer board, the CEO is responsible for developing and leading the organization’s short- and long-term strategies, managing the overall operations and resources and providing oversight of financial activity, budgeting and reporting. The CEO provides leadership to the Senior Management Team including the CFO, Director HR Services and Executive Assistant, as well as Leadership Teams in each our four (4) entities.

About the Job
- Provide Strategic Leadership for CIMHC, in keeping with the vision and strategic purpose of the organization, ensuring alignment with long-term goals.
- Provide critical decision making that supports appropriate stewardship of operations and resources of the organization. Communicate and collaborate with the Board Chair and Board to serve the needs of the organization and ensure the long-term sustainability of operations.
- Deliver inspired leadership to the Senior Management Team, leadership team within each Home, and employees, fostering a positive culture and promoting high standards in keeping with the vision and mission of the organization.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for CIMHC, maintaining a collaborative approach in communications with internal and external key stakeholders including: Employees, Residents & Their Families, Board of Directors, Representatives within Municipality of Inverness County, Department of Seniors and Long Term Care (SLTC), Department of Community Services (DCS), Health Association of Nova Scotia (HANS), Nursing Homes of NS Association (NHNSA), and the public.
- Ensure effective risk management principals and practices are in place and utilized and ensure each entity is compliant with established regulations, standards of practice, and service agreements.
- Build strategic alliances and partnerships with other organizations within the communities served by CIMHC.
- Mentor and guide members of the CIMHC team to build competency and capacity in leadership for the organization and a succession planning strategy.
- Serve as Administrator of Inverary Manor Long Term Care Home.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent field.
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership/management experience. (Leadership experience in a health care environment an asset).
- Strong critical thinking, strategic planning and change management skills.
- Excellent people management and oral/written communication skills.
- Excellent organization, delegation and prioritization skills.
- Experience mentoring and growing competencies of key reports.
- Proficiency with MS 365 and suite of products including MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset
- Experience leading in a Unionized work environment an asset.
- Can provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening upon hire.

About the Job
- Assists residents with personal care and activities of daily living, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment;
- Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan;
- Plans and/or assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis;
- Performs cleaning duties after mealtimes and assists with light housekeeping duties in resident rooms;
- Performs delegated tasks as determined by scope of employment;
- Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident status and safety to RN/LPN Supervisor.
About You
- You have a valid Continuing Care Certification (CCA) or equivalent and are registered with the Health Association of Nova Scotia CCA Registry;
- You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- You can provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening upon hire;
- You have experience working with the elderly in a seniors’ living or long-term care environment;(considered an asset);
- Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care course is considered an asset;

- A valid CPR & First Aid Certification is considered an asset;

Construction of a new modern state-of-the-art replacement facility is expected to begin in the fall of 2023 and open to residents in 2025.
