Wine Captain (Manager)
El Gaucho Seattle, a premier destination celebrated for its exceptional dining experience, is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Wine Captain to join our distinguished team. As our Wine Captain, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the guest experience through expert wine service, staff leadership, and operational excellence. Your expertise will ensure the highest standards of service while creating an extraordinary and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple server sections, ensuring seamless and efficient floor operations
- Uphold company standards and deliver positive, memorable guest experiences
- Anticipate and address guest needs with precision and attention to detail
- Provide nightly wine service, education, and operational oversight for the dining room
- Demonstrate mastery in coursed service, fine dining etiquette, problem-solving, and staff management
- Lead with composure under pressure while effectively guiding team performance
- Execute administrative duties related to wine program operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role within upscale hospitality, preferably fine dining
- Experience in wine service and a genuine passion for wine education
- Wine certifications (WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, etc.) are a plus
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Positive, energetic, and guest-focused demeanor with a deep commitment to hospitality excellence
- Dedication to upholding El Gaucho Seattle's vision, policies, procedures, and standards
Compensation:$80,000 annually (DOE)
