Lead culinary excellence at El Gaucho Boise

El Gaucho Boise is seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. You'll play a key role in all aspects of kitchen operations, from daily service to team development, working alongside the Executive Chef to maintain our standards of excellence.

You'll oversee kitchen operations, lead and mentor the culinary team, and ensure consistent execution of El Gaucho's menu. Your expertise in fine dining, leadership, and operational management will be essential to our continued success.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily back-of-house operations and kitchen staff
  • Train and develop cooks to build a strong culinary team
  • Maintain food and labor cost percentages within company guidelines
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all menu items
  • Oversee private dining events from 20 to 200 guests
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
  • Create and execute menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Coordinate with front-of-house management for seamless service
  • Participate in menu development and planning
  • Use kitchen management systems and software effectively
  • Assume kitchen leadership in Executive Chef's absence

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years culinary leadership experience
  • Strong background in fine dining or upscale restaurants
  • Proven ability to manage food and labor costs
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Proficiency with MS Office and kitchen management software
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Compensation: $65,000 annual salary

Base Salary: $65,000.00
