El Gaucho Bellevue Hiring Bartender/Cocktailer

El Gaucho

Responsibilities

Are you passionate about crafting exquisite cocktails and creating memorable experiences for guests?  El Gaucho Bellevue is looking for a talented Bartender/Cocktailer to join our team. This role involves not only creating exceptional beverages but also maintaining a welcoming bar environment, ensuring set-up, maintenance, and smooth operation.

To excel in this role, a deep understanding of food, beverages, and wine is crucial, along with the ability to serve the guests seamlessly. Your talent for selling with enthusiasm and prioritizing tasks while ensuring the guest's experience remains your top priority is essential. Maintaining an organized workstation, crafting exceptional cocktails, and efficiently processing orders through our POS system are key aspects of the job.

Applicants should have a strong grasp of beer, wine, and spirits, as well as traditional and modern cocktail preparation. Anticipating guests' needs, providing timely service, and efficiently handling cash and payments are critical. Prior fine-dining experience is a plus. All duties should be carried out with a focus on guest satisfaction, retention, and loyalty through prompt and courteous service.

As a bartender, you must have a hospitality mindset and the ability to cultivate a return clientele by creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of bartending experience
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must possess a valid food handler’s permit and alcohol server certification (if applicable)
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong hospitality mindset and a talent for cultivating return clientele

Benefits:

  • Growth potential
  • Family meals
  • Employee dining discount
  • Medical (25+ hours/week)
  • Dental (25+ hours/week)
  • Vision (25+ hours/week)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) (all employees)
  • 401k with company match (one year of service, age 21)
  • Sick leave
  • Pet insurance
  • We value our employees' experience and are closed (without pay) on Sundays and Mondays, as well as certain holidays, except for special engagements.

Compensation:

  • During the 2-week training period, and for certain limited activities thereafter (e.g., set-up for buy-outs, company meetings), you will receive the applicable minimum wage for your location at $16.66/hr.
  • After training, the pay range is the minimum wage for your location ($16.66/hr) to $102/hr, which is calculated by a variable base amount per hour (ranging from $1 to $16.66/hr) plus 15% commission on your individual gross sales (gross sales less comps), which is paid 100% to you and not shared with support staff, plus any voluntary tips or gratuities paid at the guest's discretion, which are also paid entirely to you.
  • The average earnings, including commissions and voluntary tips or gratuities, are approximately $55-$70/hr; however, this rate is based on your gross sales, less comps, and voluntary tips/gratuities, and as such may vary and is not guaranteed.
  • In the unlikely event that the base rate + commissions in a workweek do not meet or exceed the minimum wage, a server will be paid at least the location-specific minimum wage ($16.66/hr).
