Responsibilities

Animal House is seeking a Kennel Manager to add to our team! The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a kennel environment as well as work in a leadership role. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure staff are following our standard operating procedures.
  • Engage with our human and canine clientele.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities.
  • Ensure that proper guidelines are followed for cleaning protocols.
  • Train and evaluate employees.
  • Serve as the manager onsite when General Manager is not available.
  • Adjust daily schedule for shift personnel to ensure optimal efficiency and meet labor expectations
  • Performs other duties and project work as assigned.
  • Resolve customer complaints, escalate as needed. Great customer service skills is a must!
  • Promote sales in the form of group/bulk service packages, retail, baths/grooming, next reservations, etc
  • Assist with coordination and input of quarterly employee evaluations
  • Keep track of existing supplies and retail inventory, request additional needs when appropriate.
  • Keep a pulse on employees, which includes morale, attitude, and ways to improve the overall atmosphere.
  • Keep track of specific and individual details regarding pets in house, their parents, specific details of incidents, etc. so that appropriate actions, measures, and responses can be completed to include employee counseling.
  • Maintain confidentiality in our practices and all aspects of our clients and business.
  • Maintain control of a group of dogs in play.
  • Clean all equipment, toys, dishes, suites, floors, including mopping, sweeping, trash removal, and more. Cleaning is a big part of what we do!
  • Accurately retrieve and dispense food and medication and follow proper cleaning and storing of dishes and medications.
  • Understand and learn about canine body language and how to make pets comfortable in meeting you and having you lead them into our facility.
  • Respond to and resolve canine incidents and complete detailed and accurate reports.

Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Ideal candidate has previous pet care experience.
  • Must enjoy the company of animals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have the philosophy of leading by example.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Pay starts at $12/hr, depending on experience
