El Gaucho Vancouver Seeking a Private Dining and Events (Kitchen Lead)
Role and Responsibilities
- Reports directly to Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef
- Maintains food quality standards as set by Executive Chef and Company requirements
- Adheres to the highest professional standards of job performance, conduct and attendance
- Reads BEO s to compile information for product ordering and makes food production lists
- Organizes, prepares for, and participates in the execution of high-end private dining events for 15 to 250 persons
- Flexible with respect to scheduling to accommodate events on varying days and times
- Actively controls food cost through proper food handling/storage procedures, waste avoidance practices, and adherence to standardized recipes
- Ensures compliance with all state and local food handling regulations and safe food handling in the kitchen
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIOINAL REQUIREMENTS
- Verifiable experience/competence in the culinary arts and professional kitchen systems commensurate with that required by F&V.
- Ability to follow instructions by Executive Chef while also using personal judgment and initiative to solve problems
- Ability to maintain calm and focus under stress, and to work with others towards the common goal
- Ability to create and execute in a busy private dining format fresh, delicious, exciting and relevant menu items and specials in keeping with the F&V brand
- This position demands a high level of commitment to both the success of the company and to one's own professional growth. It requires sustained focus on one s duties as well as high levels of physical and mental stamina

Compensation: $24-26 Hourly | DOE
