Hiring Busser/Food Runners
Perched on a hillside above Elliot Bay and steps from Pike Place Market, Aerlume shines with air, light and sweeping views of sea and sky. We revel in creating a place for visitors and locals to gather to celebrate life.
We are looking for versatile individuals who are eager to learn and take on various support roles within our team.
Busser: As a Busser you will communicate with and assist servers to maintain service efficiency and ensure guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include serving water, bread, and butter, refilling as needed, clearing guests' plates and utensils between courses, and resetting tables. You will also assist waitstaff with hot beverages and maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked workstations. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of service to guests, striving towards guest satisfaction, positive employee relations, and profitability.
Food Runner: As a Food Runner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional dining experience. You will work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver food promptly and accurately to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests at their tables
- Ensure orders are complete and presented according to our restaurant's standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Address any guest inquiries or concerns in a professional and friendly manner
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and food safety

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all food orders are prepared and delivered according to the restaurant's standards and guest specifications.
- Act as a liaison between the kitchen staff and the serving team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Inspect dishes for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before they are served to guests.
- Monitor the timing of food preparation to ensure that all dishes for a table are ready simultaneously.
- Address any issues or discrepancies with orders promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized expediting station and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
- Assist kitchen and serving staff as needed to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Line Cook

Our Line Cooks coordinate all cooking line activity for maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction. They are responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. Our Line Cooks are also responsible for:
- following established food production programs, recipes, timings, portions, and procedures, coordinating that execution with other stations
- appropriate use of restaurant supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste
- providing the highest quality of service and product to guests in accordance with company policies and objectives, to strive towards guest satisfaction, positive employee relations, and profitability.

Server
Aerlume is perched on a hillside above Elliot Bay and steps from Pike Place Market, Aerlume shines with air, light and sweeping views of sea and sky. We revel in creating a place for visitors and locals to gather to celebrate life.
The Server at Aerlume is responsible for 3-4 tables (as determined by management) and is lead in coordinating the needs of a section and communicating with front and back-of-the house. They are responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in accordance with company policies and objectives, to strive towards guest satisfaction, positive employee relations, and profitability.
Requirements include:
- In-depth knowledge of food, beverage and wine, as well as the skills necessary to execute their service.
- French style service and familiarity with Micros a plus.
- Keen service, salesmanship and prioritization of tasks, with a strict focus on meeting and exceeding the needs of the guest.
- Ability to accurately receive and enter food and beverage orders through the given POS system.
- Knowledge of fine-dining coursing with appropriate and timely steps of service.
- Efficiency in cash handling and payment processing.
Compensation:
- Compensation| During the 2-week training period, and for certain limited activities thereafter (e.g., set-up for buy-outs, company meetings) you will get the applicable minimum wage for your location: $20.76/hr. After training, the pay range is the minimum wage for your location ($20.76/hour) to $102/hour, which is calculated by a variable base amount per hour (ranging from $1 to $20.76/hour) plus 15% commission on your individual gross sales (gross sales less comps), which is paid 100% to you and not shared with support staff, plus any voluntary tips or gratuities paid at the guests’ discretion, which are also paid entirely to you.* The average earnings, including commissions and bumps, are approximately $55-$70/hour; however, this rate is based on your gross sales and bumps, and as such may vary and is not guaranteed.
* In the unlikely event the base rate + commissions in a workweek do not meet or exceed the minimum wage, a server will be paid at least the location-specific minimum wage $20.76/hour
