As a Busser at El Gaucho Portland, you will work closely with our service team to maintain the flow and efficiency of the dining room while ensuring every guest feels well cared for. You are an essential part of the polished, attentive service our guests expect, and your care and attention to detail help create a seamless dining experience from the first course to the last.

Responsibilities

• Serve water, bread, and butter, refilling throughout the meal as needed
• Clear plates, glassware, and utensils promptly and quietly between courses
• Reset tables quickly and to standard to keep the dining room moving
• Assist servers with hot beverages and other table needs
• Maintain clean, organized, and well stocked workstations throughout service
• Communicate with servers and hosts on table status to support smooth seating
• Support the team with side work and any guest facing tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast paced environment
• Attention to detail and a genuine desire to create memorable guest experiences
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Cross Training Opportunity

We are looking for a Busser who is also willing to cross train as a Host. Candidates open to learning the host stand, including greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and the waitlist, and answering phones, will gain valuable front of house experience and broader opportunities for growth within our team.
