Regional Sales Manager

We are seeking a Regional Manager – Sales to join our Sales team, supporting Eastern Canada and the Eastern United States. As a member of the Sales Leadership Team, this role is responsible for driving profitable sales growth, expanding market share, developing key customer relationships, and leading the regional sales team. This opportunity is well suited to a strategic, results-oriented sales leader who enjoys building strong customer partnerships, developing teams, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Sales Planning

·         Develop and execute annual sales and regional business plans in collaboration with the Vice President of Sales, Lead Sales Director, Regional Team, and Sales Leadership Team.

·         Lead the development of regional sales strategies and account plans for key customers.

·         Identify opportunities to grow market share, introduce new products, and expand business within existing and emerging markets.

·         Ensure strategic initiatives, business plans, and budget requirements are completed effectively and on schedule.

 

Sales & Financial Performance

·         Develop and manage annual sales forecasts and budgets to support profitable growth across assigned regions and channels.

·         Achieve annual sales targets for volume, revenue, and margin.

·         Monitor regional and key account performance and provide direction to Territory Managers and Regional Managers to support achievement of sales and financial objectives.

·         Manage departmental, travel, trade spend, and business development budgets within approved financial plans.

 

Business Development & Account Management

·         Lead regional business development initiatives to achieve sales forecasts and long-term growth objectives.

·         Identify and pursue new business opportunities while strengthening and expanding existing customer relationships.

·         Develop and lead negotiations for regional contracts, promotions, customer programs, and strategic agreements.

·         Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, processors, food service customers, and other strategic partners.

·         Collaborate with Sales Leadership and Regional Teams to share opportunities, strategies, market intelligence, and best practices.

 

Market & Customer Strategy

·         Develop and recommend regional go-to-market strategies that optimize resources and respond to evolving customer and market needs.

·         Implement national sales programs, trade strategies, and initiatives with distributors and strategic partners.

·         Provide product, market, technical, and competitive insights to support sales strategies, training, and product innovation.

·         Partner with Sales Leadership, Line of Business Directors, and Operations to support the development and commercialization of new products.

 

Sales Team Leadership

·         Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Sales Representatives, Territory Managers, and Regional Managers to achieve individual and regional objectives.

·         Foster a high-performing sales culture focused on teamwork, accountability, customer service, and results.

·         Conduct performance reviews and ensure direct reports maintain measurable goals aligned with regional and organizational priorities.

·         Support employee development, succession planning, and continuous performance improvement.

 

Third-Party Resource Management

·         Lead and manage third-party sales representatives, brokers, and agents to ensure regional and account objectives are achieved.

·         Monitor the effectiveness of brokerage and external sales resources to ensure appropriate utilization and measurable return on investment.

 

Market Analysis & Industry Awareness

·         Monitor market trends, competitive activity, technological advancements, and industry developments within the packaging sector.

·         Identify emerging risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to support strategic business decisions.

·         Maintain current knowledge of customer expectations, market conditions, competitive products, and industry innovation.

 

Customer Care & Cross-Functional Collaboration

·         Partner with Customer Care, Supply Chain, Operations, and other internal teams to enhance service delivery and support customer satisfaction.

·         Provide customer and operational insights to improve processes, strengthen the customer experience, and support overall business performance.

 

Company Representation

·         Represent CKF Inc. professionally at customer meetings, industry events, trade associations, conferences, and other regional or national events as required.

·         Promote CKF’s interests and build strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.

 

Continuous Improvement

·         Identify opportunities to strengthen sales practices, processes, and operational efficiencies.

·         Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sales effectiveness, customer service, and organizational performance.

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Postsecondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.

·         Proven 5-7 years’ sales leadership experience in sales management, business development, or account management.

·         Strong financial and analytical skills with experience managing budgets and forecasting.

·         Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive sales performance in a competitive market.

·         Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

·         Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and organizational levels.

·         Knowledge of packaging, manufacturing, distribution, or related industries is considered an asset.

·         Willingness to travel as required for customer meetings, trade events, and regional business activities.
