As an authorized Cummins Generator Dealer and Warranty Service Provider, we specialize in residential and commercial electrical work, standby generator installations and servicing, EV charging systems, and electrical upgrades.

We are looking for a motivated electrical apprentice with mechanical aptitude and practical small engine or engine knowledge to assist with electrical installations and generator maintenance. This position offers hands on experience in both the electrical trade and engine driven standby power systems.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Electrical Techniques program, Level 1 in school training for the 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship, or equivalent electrical training.

• Practical knowledge of small engines or other engines, including familiarity with basic servicing, oil changes, filters, batteries, and maintenance procedures.

• Registered 309A electrical apprentice, or a candidate seeking to begin an apprenticeship who meets the training requirements above.

• Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to work.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools.

• Dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to take initiative.

• Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team or independently, and communicate professionally with customers.

• Commitment to safe work practices, quality workmanship, and continued learning.

• Previous generator servicing experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed electricians with residential and commercial electrical installations, service work, and upgrades.

• Install wiring, lighting, receptacles, electrical panels, and associated equipment under appropriate supervision.

• Assist with standby generator installations ranging from 8 kW to 150 kW, transfer switches, and EV charging systems.

• Perform scheduled generator maintenance after training, including oil and filter changes, battery checks, spark plug replacement where applicable, and general equipment inspections.

• Assist with generator testing, troubleshooting, and identifying maintenance or repair needs.

• Read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and manufacturer service instructions.

• Accurately document maintenance performed, test results, and concerns requiring follow-up.

• Follow the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, manufacturer instructions, and company safety procedures.

• Keep tools, service vehicles, materials, and work areas clean and organized.

• Take initiative, stay productive, and demonstrate a genuine interest in learning the trade.
